The sale supports deserving children and their families with funds and donations of unsold items. Here’s how:
The entire net proceeds of the sale (what we retain after payments to consignors and operating expenses) are donated to family-focused nonprofits and ministries. Application forms are made available shortly after each sale, and a committee votes on the allocation of funds. Here is the most recent list of fund recipients »
The majority of items that are consigned in our sales are sold. But many of the items that remain unsold at the end of the sale are donated to families who need them. Shortly after the sale ends on Saturday, we invite local families to come and select from those items. After they have shopped, we invite our mission partners and other local organizations to select from the donated items that remain.
Consignors have the option of whether to donate their items or have them returned at the end of the sale, and we are so grateful for those who choose to donate. As a result of your generosity, we have stocked the closets of many local ministries (such as MUST, Foster Care Support, Cobb Street Ministries, and more) and have sent much-needed help to ministries in Kenya, Romania, Honduras, India, and military bases around the world.
